Panay Island offers 9 dive sites around half an hour by boat from Boracay. Download Panay dive site posterThe topography of the walls varies, some with enormous boulders (Nasog Point), some with many holes hiding critters (Dog Drift), others with sheer walls covered in soft and hard corals (Buruanga Point). These wall dives offer the best chance to see the big marine life, with sightings of whale sharks and manta rays being reported at certain times of the year. Panay also provides rocky pinnacle dive sites and shallower reefs, so there is something for everyone. This island is home to a huge number of fish varieties: triggerfish, sweetlips, angelfish, puffers, butterflyfish, lionfish, grouper, snapper and batfish. In the blue there is a chance to see jacks, tuna and barracuda. At the bottom of the shallower walls on the sandy bottom, stingrays can sometimes be found. And for those who love macro, many types of nudibranch and eels can also be discovered.
